WESLEY CHAPEL- It was the first preseason game of the 2021-2022 campaign and though the game started a little behind schedule, the Dunedin Pirates looked sharp in multiple facets.

Quarterback Nate Munson rushed for two touchdowns and quarterback Eric Vitale threw for another, as the Pirates rolled to a dominating 21-2 victory over the Wesley Chapel Apaches Saturday night at the Wesley Chapel District Park.

Things started off a little slow on offense but Munson and running back Darin Alderman would get the show going. Munson scored on an 8-yard scamper in the first quarter and then added another scoring play in the second.

Dunedin’s defense was dominat throughout, as linebacker Josh Rivera had an interception and helped lead a strong front seven. Vitale found wide receiver on a short 7-yard touchdown throw to Michael Minges, making it 21-0. The Apaches added a late safety to avoid the shutout.
