by Staff Writer

DUNEDIN- The Dunedin Pirates enjoyed a great first offseason training activity turnout, per head coach Nate Barlow this past weekend.

Coach Barlow stated that the team showed great effort and the ‘Ole Ball Coach’ saw plenty of talent on the field amongst the 46 participants that took part.

Amongst the new faces that impressed was former Anclote running back Mareece Strugis and former Tampa Bay Tigers’ quarterback Dashawn Brooks, who came out to play wide receiver for the Pirates.

Standouts among the returners by the coaches was returning cornerback Trevor Allen and wide receiver DeQuon Bryant. Coach Barlow also noted that he liked the efforts from veteran returning safety Darrius Smalls, linebacker Kris Valley, wide receiver Andy Villamarzo and quarterback Tim Dallaire.

The team’s next OTA is on September 19th at Safety Harbor Middle School at 10am.
