GIVINS OUTLINES EXPECTATIONS AT TEAM MEETING

by Andy Villamarzo

DUNEDIN- Anclote Pirates head coach Ernest Givins addresses a good contingent of players at the team's second off-season gathering since being named the club's lead man and the former Houston Oiler wide receiver made it be known that accountability will be huge moving forward.

Givins, who was a 2-time NFL Pro Bowl selection during his time with the Oilers, comes to the Pirates with a decorated coaching resume, including winning several league championships in the Southern States Football League (SSFL) and also was the head coach of the Sarasota Millionaires from 2012 to 2014. The Millionaires reached the postseason all three seasons.

In speaking to the players, Givins spoke about team unity, accountability and taking part in team activities. The former NFL'er also stated that the Pirates' first practice would be on October 17th at Dunedin High School. The Pirates will have many events before the team's first practice, including a bowling night and several fundraisers as well.
