Gladiators too much for Pirates in EAFL Bowl Bash

by Jackson Shewey

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS- When it came to playing a full four quarters, Tarpon Springs needed just one more quarter to see its full potential.

Unfortunately in the end, the Southwest Florida Gladiators were too much in the end. The Pirates ran out of gas in the fourth quarter and fell 58-31 to the Gladiators in the Elite American Football League's 2nd annual Bowl Bash event at Lake Brantley High School.

A bright spot in the game was the play of first-year starting quarterback Isaiah McIntyre, who threw five touchdowns in the loss. McIntyre was the club's backup signal caller last season and showed he's more than capable of operating the offense in 2024.

The Pirates will re-group and face the Hernando County Leopards in two weeks.
