Pirate players' first test for the upcoming season

by Jackson Shewey

TAMPA – The Tarpon Springs Pirates front office has been extremely busy this offseason scouting and signing talent on all sides of the field. These new players will be given a chance to prove themselves at the evaluation combine in late September.

The combine will take place September 24th at Tarpon Springs High School from 10 am till 1 pm. Here players will be tested on their overall skills with a 40-yard dash, vertical test, and more. This is an essential step as coaches examine which players they believe will give this team the best shot at a championship.

The Pirates have many players returning this year, including star receiver Michael Minges and linebacker Dylan Morse, but that hasn't stopped them from pushing for more. With the signing of former Thunder defensive tackle Javian Engram and receiver Daundre Johnson this team has high hopes for the season ahead.

December 17th will be the first real test where the Pirates take on the Central Florida Centurions in the opening preseason game.
