Pirates bounce back with gritty win over pesky Jaguars

TARPON SPRINGS- When it came to turnovers against the Florida Jaguars on Saturday night, there was plenty of them for the Pirates.

Nonetheless, the team was able to overcome them to get away with a win. Tarpon Springs pulled it together with a strong second half effort to defeat the Jaguars 30-12 at Sponger Stadium.

With offensive coordinator Alvaro Muente out for the game due to a family obligation, wide receivers coach Brendan Boniol stepped in and did an admirable job in his place.

It would be the turnover bug that hampered the Pirates as the team turned over the ball eight times to the Jaguars. Up just 16-12 at halftime, Tarpon Springs needed everything they could muster up to get by the St. Petersburg-based team.
