Pirates lose big time in Ft. Lauderdale

FT. LAUDERDALE- In the Dunedin Pirates’ 8-year history, a new record for futility was set and now must head into a bye week searching for answers on how to fix the issues at hand.

The Pirates (0-2) faced the South Florida Wolverines, whom were coming off a 30-26 loss to the Miami ‘Magic City’ Bulls last week and were not a happy group. The Wolverines (1-1) decided to take it out on the Pirates in a 70-0 trouncing at Joseph C. Carter Park.

Dunedin looked sluggish from the start and by halftime were well out of reach in making any comeback attempt a reality. Pirates’ quarterback Eric Vitale played tough and had several plays through the air and on the ground.

Pirates will now turn their focus to the Port Orange Stallions (0-2), who lost 38-0 to the River City Commandos this past weekend. Stallions host the Southwest Florida Gladiators (3-0) this upcoming Saturday.
