Pirates open up Minicamp with good showing

DUNEDIN- The Dunedin Pirates opened up 2019 Minicamp with a strong showing on Day 1 for new head coach Nate Barlow. 

Camp started off with strong numbers, as close to 40 participants were on hand for the Minicamp session, which several veterans were back on the scene. 

Returning quarterback Eric Vitale  looked sharp in his first day back, as he threw to a strong group of receivers. Amongst the receivers are returners Alex Jennings, Andy Villamarzo and then newbies Arkise Hayes, Dequon Bryant, Mike Conran and Jonah Johnson. 

Defensively, Dunedin looked energized behind a revamped secondary with returners Darrius Smalls, Malik Cobb and two former Pirates’ Demetrius Ingram and Felipe Small also were in attendance. 

The Pirates will be back on the practice field August 4th (Sunday) 11 a.m. at Dunedin Highland Middle School.
