PIRATES RETIRE JOSH REHKOPF'S NO. 24 JERSEY

by Andy Villamarzo

DUNEDIN- The Anclote Pirates held a special ceremony before the game against the Southwest Florida Gladiators and honored former player Josh Rehkopf, who played for the organization from 2010 until 2014. Rehkopf, who joined the Pirates in the fall of 2009, was a constant at team practices, games and team events. The running back/defensive lineman didn't put up the flashy stats, but was the model member of any adult amateur football program.

Rehkopf sported the No. 24 each season he played and had his jersey retired by CEO Andy Villamarzo and team president Michael Rehkopf. Villamarzo spoke to the crowd of over 100 people on hand at Dunedin Memorial Stadium and recognized Rehkopf's importance to the Pirates' program over the years.
